What is Alt Attribute? – Definition
Alt attribute (also known as alt description) is an alternative text used for both Google and users. Alternative descriptions were created for people with visual impairment, they provide an image description. They also help search engines to interpret what is in the image. From an SEO point of view, the alt attribute should contain keywords that correspond to the image content.
Owing to the alt attribute, search engine robots can read the image description, and therefore can define it and accurately categorize it for search results. The alt description is also visible to users when an image on a page doesn’t load.
